I was surfing around on MocoLoco for fun and found this brilliant invention.

It made me realize how we’e compleatly forogtten how food should be treated. Just in with it all in the fridge and there it all stays becasue that’s just how it is. I never knew that you could place some veggies in sand and that some shouldn’t even be in the fridge. It was quite the eye opener. And imagine how beautiful it could be with all these veggies on your wall. At least untill you start usign only half ones and you would have stumps of carrots wraped up in plastic stuck in the sand…

It is a realyl simple and fun game and I spent alot of time just clicking on everything I saw jsut becasue of the geniously made sounds. And I could probaly waste an hour or two squashing bugs just becasue of the curiousity of the price that awaits you after 2000 points.

This game is an old bookmark I had and just reediscovred.  It is rally simple but when you think of it, the coding bhind it must be quite advanced. it recogises eerything you draw and adds physics to it. Would be alot of fun tro try it out and see what oyu can do with it. What would happen if you draw a form that wouldn’t make sense? Would the program guess?

While half awake,eating breakast this gloomy moring, I decied to watch some good old TED talks. That is a great way to start you day by the way. I found this 11 minute long talk to apear interesting  and boy it was!

It is a talk by architecture students Magnus Larsson and it’s about creating a sand dune barrier in the south of Sahara to stop the sand from destroying the land by desertification. He want’s to do this by adding  bacteria that binds sand and create sand stone. This is a natural process and it happens over 24 hours. It is a very innovative way to think of housing possibilities. Check it out!

The Japanese has done it again!

Another crazy idea that actually works well. The bike tree. They’ve done it with car parking, ree-packaging them after you park them, for more efficient parking. Now they’ve done it with bikes. You put your bike into a slot in the ground, infront o what looks like an elevator. Swipe your “parking card” and a robotic arm comes to pick up your bike to store it efficiently in “the bike tree”.  When you come back to get it you swipe it again and ater 30 seconds the arm brings it back to you. Smart indeed, but I wonder how many people would make the effort to actually do it, when you can just park it on the street.

This is increaible and amazing that he still has his arm intact. Well, for now at least. Everett Bradford’s “Prometheus Device” is the third runner up for Make: Halloween contest. If this is the thrid prize, who will be the winner?

This made me so happy to  see. Making boring things, that you know you should do, into fun things that you WANT to do.

Volkswagen made, from what I can tell, 3 videos about 3 boring things we do and made them fun. They are, taking the stairs instead of the escelator, recycling your bottles and throwing trash. The ideas are brilliant and simple!

This is so inspirering for me as a designer. Making a task more than just functional. Why can’t everything be fun?!

Today I stumbled upon a really interesting site that has some of the strangest, most odd and  fashinating things on the planet all collected in lists. It’s called ODDEE. Very educational and really makes you wonder how much you know about the world we’re livign in. For instance there’s a lightning storm in Venezuela that occures on around 150 days every year. There’s a bush that dances. In Washigton  there’s a service where you can hire a person to stand in line for you while you have more important things to do. You better go skining in the Alps before 2050 because after that it’s predicte that they will melt away completely becasue of global warming. There’s a man that can’t feel cold an a woman that is allergic to water.

Forever is a digital sculpture that stands in the Victoria  & Albert Museum in London. It is mabe by PostSpectacular in collaboration with Unieral Everything ad Freefarm. Karsten Schmidt is the founder of PostSpectaular and is a Guru when it comes to processing. This sculpture is forever changing both in visuals and sound, so what ever time time you spend observing it, it is unique and will never happen again.  It appears to stand on water in a beautiful square inside the museum. The contrast between the old building and this modern cleen sculputure is both interesting, beautiful and makes me think about the development our culture have made  over the centuries.

I just want to start of by sharing my absolut favourite source for inspiration TED.

For those who have unfortunately missed out on TED up untill this moment, TED is a non profit conference where some of the worlds greatest thinkers present their new and innovative ideas that could and are changing the world as we know it. There’s alot of research findings, products and systems that are shown for the first time at TED, so it is well worth keeping an eye on if you want to keep yourself updated with what’s happening in the world.

The different lectures, or Talks as they call it, are all presented as high quality videos and range from 5-30 minutes, so it is not a heavy task to watch one. Perfect to look at during breakfast if you’re not big on reading the morning news.

One of my faourite ones is a talk held by Sir Ken Robinson, Shools kill creativity. It is both funny, educating and true. check it out and keep on exploring the site. You wont be dissapointed!
